Certainly Cinnamon now boasts a full and part time staff of over 50 people and implements foodservice programs throughout the greater HRM. Owner Terry Pottie started in 2010 as the baker, worked hard and made CEO in 2020 and in 2022 Terry purchased the business from previous owners Scott and Donna Colwell. Terry and his team are dedicated professionals whose hard work and high standards continue to make Certainly Cinnamon one of Nova Scotia’s most popular caterers. Code of Ethics

Certainly Cinnamon believes that ethical behavior in business is a must. We believe that a strong set of values will lead to positive results in the business world and beyond. The company is committed to solid ethical practices. Certainly Cinnamon’s Code of Ethics is one that guides the company through everyday situations and larger challenges should they arise.

Trust and Honesty

We deal with our customers and employees through open and honest communication. We are sincere and candid with all interactions and believe this is the only way to conduct business.

Responsible Citizenship

We respect and value the opinions of others and believe that openly communicating these opinions will lead to positive discussions and decision-making. We encourage employees to participate in the decision-making process. To our business community and customers we are committed to providing open communication.

Fairness

We at Certainly Cinnamon act in the most diplomatic manner. We do not act hastily and try to strike a balance in what is best for the customers and the employees. While we value the customers’ opinions we do not feel that they are always right. We will not let them abuse or take advantage or our employees and in essence our organization.

We will never take advantage of either our internal or external public including employees, customers, suppliers and the community.

Kindness

To put it simply, we believe that a little bit of kindness goes a long way. Please, thank-you, and a friendly smile can change one’s outlook and “cheer up” the day.

Pursuit of excellence

We will not compromise our integrity to succeed in business. We strive for excellence through honesty, hard work and diligence, and are not satisfied with mediocrity. In this drive for excellence we will continue to build on our relationships within the community in an ethical manner.

Our code of ethics was written by Gayle Murdoch and Robert Murray as part of a project for St. Mary's University. Gayle and Robert recieved an award for their work from the university. Thank you for all your hard work!
